Meet Craig Murray – Founder of Intrinsic Events

With over a decade of experience in conference and exhibition design and management, Craig Murray has been a driving force in the events industry since 2004. He began his career in the surf sector with renowned brands like Rip Curl and Billabong before co-founding Flow nightclub, where he promoted over 200 music events featuring both national and international artists.

After transitioning to venue management in Wellington with the Economic Development Agency, Craig returned to Rotorua as the Convention Bureau Manager for Destination Rotorua. His extensive experience includes managing events from the top of the North Island to the bottom of the South Island.

Craig is the creator of notable events such as the Capital Enduro, NZ SME Summit, and the NZ SME & Entrepreneur Festival. Until 2023, he managed the Giant 2W Gravity Enduro, growing it to become the biggest enduro series in the world, alongside managing Enduro World Series mountain bike races. Most recently, he successfully launched the NZ Fishing, Hunting & 4x4 Expo, which attracted over 6,000 attendees in its inaugural year.
